SARANDA, July 27 – A 17 year old teenager drowned in the Bunec area, Saranda district, in southern Albania due to the rough seas. The lives of four other people were seriously threatened due to the same reason.
Arben Mestori and four other teenagers had gone swimming and the high waves first grabbed Mestori. The four others found it difficult to cope with it following assistance from a driver who was there.
Weather has changed drastically during the last days all around the country. Rain and strong winds have also caused problems for the ferries bringing Albanian immigrants back home for vacation. Four of them had to wait for hours before embarking in Durres port Monday.
Meanwhile thousands of other Albanians have crossed the border from neighboring Greece Increase of the number of immigrants pushed border police to add more boxes to check their documentation, thus reducing the possibility of long queues that have become so usual and boring in the last years.
