TIRANA, July 29 – H.S. Puri, Indian State Secretary, recently visited Albania, pledging to further increase bilateral ties and also talked about recognition of Kosova.
Puri held a three-day visit to the country to meet with officials.
Puri lobbied Tirana to support New Delhi on its efforts to establish cooperation with the International Agency of the Atomic Energy so that its nuclear reactors may be inspected by its experts.
India and Albania are also linked due to Mother Teresa, who is buried in India, and is of Albanian origin.
Both countries pledged to promote stronger economic ties.
As expected, Albanian authorities urged India to soon recognize Kosova, saying that an independent Kosova was the only way for peace and stability in the region. (Tirana Times Staff)
