Smaller commercial exchange than last year

TIRANA, May 6 – The commercial exchange in March this year was significantly smaller compared to a year ago but still slightly higher than a month ago.
During March of 2009, 7,956 million lek of commodities was exported, an increase of 5.9 percent compared to February but 13.5 percent less than March 2008.
An increase of 0.3 percent, or 33,478 million lek of commodities were imported compared to February and 0.8 percent higher than a year ago.
The trade deficit was 25,522 million lek, 1.4 percent less than in February and 6.3 percent higher than March 2008.
