TIRANA, Jan. 30 – Police arrested Luan Ylviu, 37, after finding him trying to smuggle through Mother Teresa International Airport a great amount of goods like suits, jackets, trousers, shirts, blouses, shoes without paying the custom tax.
Monday police arrested two persons, Ramiz Shahini, 22, and Valter V., 16, for stealing different goods. Muhamet Dubeli was arrested and accused of stealing a considerable amount of money at an apartment earlier this month. A pistol and bullets were found at his house. Edmond Kodra, 43, was also arrested for theft.
Kujtim Rrushi, 35, was arrested for pedophilia acts against a 10-year old child. Rrushi was sentenced before with three years imprisonment for serving as a pimp for prostitutes.
The owner of a small retail shop, Engjell Spahiu, was fined for having a considerable amount of smuggled cigarettes, which were also confiscated. Bashkim Sala, 24, was arrested while he was trying to steal spare parts of the cars police had blocked at a parking space. Besmir Malaj, 21, was arrested after being found with a considerable amount of stolen coffee, alcoholic and soft drinks.
Police also arrested Fatjon Qosja, 21, wanted for theft. He had also been imprisoned before for theft. The same could be said for Sanije S., 47, also arrested by police. Hasan Korita, 32, was arrested and accused of stealing from a shop in Tirana. Elton Bazelli, 30, from Fier, was stopped at Mother Teresa airport because he was wanted for a murder attempt. Agron Kalaja, 47, was also arrested and accused of producing false documents and passports. Klodeta Maksuti, 26, was arrested for smuggling goods.
Besnik Hasa, 42, was arrested for theft while Fatjon Laci, 20, and Eglantin G., 17, were arrested for stealing an electric cable and other thefts. In southernmost town of Saranda police arrested Ali Sadushi who has allegedly stolen from the offices of Insig insurance public company in Livadhja. Two officials of the mortgage department in southwestern Vlora city, David Tushaj, 50, and Halit Rama, 60, were arrested for falsifying mortgage documents. Police started a penal case against Andona K., 39, for giving false documents when applying for a new passport. The same case occurred with Eugerta H., 27, presented false documents when trying to move from one quarter to the other in the capital Tirana.
