Strengthening traditional relations in a new context discussed, as Chinese ambassador visits AIIS

TIRANA, Sept. 16 – Chinese Ambassador Yiang Ju accompanied by the embassy political officer as well as other staff members met with the executive director of the Albanian Institute of International Studies, Dr. Albert Rakipi, and the deputy director, Alba Cela, in order to discuss the ways in which both institutions can collaborate for the strengthening and development of Albanian-Chinese relations.

The discussion was focused on ways to increase the flow of information available to both the societies focusing on segments such as the business community, academia, media and also students.

The ambassador expressed her consideration for the work of AIIS as one of the most prestigious think tank in Albania and the willingness of the embassy to work together with AIIS for various activities.

The Albanian Institute of International Studies already has a successful story of collaboration with two high profile research institutes in China and has regularly participated in regional projects and visits to China extending the knowledge and network between the two countries.

Ambassador Yiang Ju and her staff also visited the offices of Tirana Times, which is independent of AIIS but has a longstanding partnership with the think tank.
