TIRANA, April 14 – Two Albanian men were arrested following a successful police operation to prevent smuggling drugs into Tirana.
Spartak Zejneli, 37, and Altin Balla, 29, were arrested last weekend and charged with drug trafficking. At the time of their arrest, they were found with five kilograms of drugs, believed to be heroin and a mixer.
In another operation in Italy, police arrested a 28-year old Albanian in Bologna after finding some 1.8 kilograms of cocaine at his apartment, along with a pistol. He had been previously sentenced to four-year imprisonment by the Italian court for drug smuggling.
In Tirana, two minors were arrested and accused of drug trafficking and possession of an illegal weapon. They had been found with 11.5 grams of heroin and a pistol.
