TIRANA, Jan. 26 – Switzerland, being the first donor to support strongly Albania in the development of a functioning and sustainable electricity sector since 1992, has successfully assisted in the conduction of the Dam Safety Feasibility Study on the Drin and Mat Rivers Cascades, funded by Swiss government with around 1 million euros.
Based on this feasibility study, the dam safety programme has been designed in coordination with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy (METE) and Albania Energy Corporation (KESH) as a multi-donor programme, with a total amount of 84 million euros, consisting of independent, logical investment packages to be financed by World Bank (WB): 42 million euros, Kreditanstalt f
