Albania-Iran ties, their prospects and ways to increase cooperation, that was the theme of the conference organized by the Albanian Institute for International Studies, with the special presence of Iranian President’s chief of Staff

TIRANA, Jan. 13 – The Albanian institute for International Studies held Thursday a conference entitled “Talking Iran” with the honored presence of Iranian President’s chief of Staff Prof. Dr. Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei.
The meeting, headed from Sabri Godo, Chairman of Foreign Relations Committe and AIIS Board member , focused on the bilateral ties between the two countries and the prospects of further improving the economic and cultural exchange.
Rahim-Mashaei, who also keeps the post of adviser to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other key posts in different institutions, made a lengthy introduction of Teheran’s policy in the world and especially in the Balkans. He introduced his country’s policy in the tense Middle East and also its role during the difficult times in the Balkans.
Rahim-Mashaei said there were no problems at all between the two countries and that Tehran was open to any cooperation or assistance for the tiny Balkan country, including energy industry , tourism and also cultural exchange.
The meeting continued with questions from the packed audience, interested on the situation in Iran, development of its economy, cultural life and religion, situation of women and the contested issues of the nuclear energy, their support to the Palestine issue and the confrontation with Israel
Coordinator Godo wisely intervened for a number of controversial issues in cases of debate from the audience and the main speaker., mainly when talking on the United States, Israel and Afganistan.
