Tax rates, corruption top business concerns as Albania climbs to 75th in global competitiveness

TIRANA, Sept. 27 – Albania climbed 5 steps to rank 75th among 137 economies globally in the 2017-2018 Global Competitiveness report, but tax rates and corruption remained the top two concerns for doing business in the country. The findings are unveiled in the latest Global Competitiveness report measuring national competitiveness defined as the set of institutions, policies and factors that determine the level of productivity. The report published annually by the World Economic Forum, a Switzerland-based think tank, shows Albania improved its ranking by 5 steps compared to last year to register its best ever result, outperforming other EU aspirant…
