DURRES, May 19 – The Durres Court started earlier this week the trial against Artan Kristo who is accused of inciting terrorist acts through his religious propaganda.
Kristo, an Albanian Muslim man, was arrested in October last year for inciting terror acts through postings on a local Web site following a two-month investigation.
Kristo, 32, is charged with inciting acts of terrorism through public calls and propaganda on an Internet site.
If found guilty, Kristo may be sentenced up to 15 years imprisonment.
About two-thirds of Albania’s population of 3.2 million are Muslims, though there is no formal census to confirm that. Most Albanian Muslims lead secular lives.
