Seasonal flu also sending hundreds to hospital
TIRANA, March 3 – Albanian health authorities have said several cases of swine flu have been found in the country, including three that have lead to deaths in the past week.
Patients who died belonged to groups at higher risks of complications from the disease — including a 30-year-old pregnant woman. A 86-year-old man and a 71-year-old senior also died of complications from swine flu, health authorities said.
Authorities said that there should be no panic, but advised everyone to pay special attention to protect the elderly, children and pregnant women.
They urged everybody to keep hands as clean as possible.
Authorities have also said that the seasonal flu is also present, sending hundreds to hospitals, but about 50 have been diagnosed with the deadlier swine flu symptoms.
