TIRANA, July 15 – Police have arrested three military personnel who allegedly prepared explosive devices through cell phones. They sold them in the country and also neighboring Greece for up to 2,500 euros.
Small explosive devices turned into a headache for law enforcement authorities earlier this year, with several occurring countrywide as part of a crime wave of targeted violence.
The three professional soldiers, residents in the Shkoder and Lezhe districts, received the C4 explosives from Montenegro and then they prepared the device that was set off with a phone. Seven of such items were found in their possessions.
They can be sentenced with up to 20 years imprisonment if found guilty.
