TIA better ranking, but still far from good

TIRANA, Oct. 27 – Transparency International annual report on corruption raised Albania’s level to eight points higher but that meant only a 0.1 percent improvement compared to last year.
Albania was ranked 87 with 3.3 points out of 10 compred to the post of 95th last year.
The TIA report showed that corruption is still widespread in the country but with a smaller increase.
Albania left behind only Bosnia and Kosovo and was behind all the other counrties int he region.
Corruption in Albania is listed as a major problem that was affecting the impoverished country’s efforts to join the EU and democratize its social life.
