Tirana increases funding for top students, young scientists

TIRANA, Nov 17 – Albania’s Ministry of Education and Science is to boost a fund supporting the country’s best students and young scientists to $1 million for the 2009-10 academic year.
The Excellency Fund is directed at leading students in doctoral and post-doctoral programs abroad, the ministry said in a statement.
Beneficiaries also include winners of international competitions and Olympic Games, authors of scientific publications, and, for the first time this year, accomplished students in bachelor’s or master’s programs
