TIRANA, July 5 – Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto met Monday with Polish Ambassador in Tirana Irena Tatarzynska and Head of the EU Delegation in Tirana, Ambassador Ettore Sequi in the context of Warsaw’s takeover the EU Presidency.
Haxhinasto said that the Tirana government will do its utmost to comply with the 12 recommendations of the last year EU’s progress report and that it remains open to welcome the opposition’s positive contribution for a further advancement of our country’s relations with the EU.
“Albania has all opportunities if it wants to engage in a political institutional process; all possibilities are in place, so that for all those priorities set for us last year in the Opinion of the EU Commission there is absolutely sufficient time, there is absolutely a chance for us to be qualified for the future positive opinion,” said Haxhinasto.
Haxhinasto, however, acknowledged that without a closer cooperation between the governing coalition and the opposition no step ahead could be taken.
