TIRANA, Dec 16 – Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli said last week that France had always been a major supporter of Albania, not only on its road towards joining the EU and NATO, but also in its domestic development.
Topalli met with the head of the Albania-France friendship group of the French National Assembly, Genevieve Colot, who expressed satisfaction over the ratification of the EU-Albania Stabilization -Association Agreement (SAA) by France’s National Assembly in a consensus of all parliamentary groups which, she said, “is rare for this Assembly.”
The French official said that all the lawmakers of various parliamentary groups taking the floor at the ratification session were enthusiastic about the Albanian government’s successes and achievements, something which had “motivated her and the other deputies of the Albania-France friendship group to step up the ratification of the NATO Protocol by the French National Assembly.”
