PARIS, Nov. 25 – An exhibition featuring works by two Albanian contemporary artists will open on November 27 in the La Gènèrale en Manufacture gallery in Paris.
“Talking About” is an exhibition where both artists, Artan Shabani and Eltjon Valle, introduce to the public their latest works, consisting in collage and others mediums. In this exhibition Artan Shabani presents himself with a cycle where the collective memory is treated, trying to traduce the meaning of the questions, based on experience.
Eltjon Valle will be introduced with a series of works from the research arguments of The Marinz Project, which the artist has developed over time. The Project reflects important stories. “As there is no personality, this unidentified portrait covered up with adhesive could belong to everybody,” the organizers said in a statement.
The exhibition at the La Gènèrale en Manufacture gallery in Sèvres Paris will be open to the public until December 31.
“Don’t you know? you’re talking about a… It sounds like a whisper. Wasting time in the unemployment line sitting around waiting to be promoted”.
Artan Shabani was born on 1969 in Vlore. He lives and works in Venice. Since 2007, he has been the founder and curator of The Promenade Gallery in Vlore, where other artists such as Anri Sala, Adrian Paci, Lucie Fontaine have also displayed their artworks. In 2009, he was the curator of Albanian Pavilion (Albania-Kosovo) on the fourth edition of the Prague Biennale. He has introduced his works also in Casa Massaccio Center of Contemporary Arts in San Giovanni Valdarno, The National Gallery of Arts, Prishtina (2010), Venice Biennale – 53. Eltjon Valle was born on 1984 in Kucove. He lives and works in Milan. He graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts (Milan) in 2007. Currently, the artist develops a New Media Art Design postgraduate programme in the same institution. His works have been displayed in O’Artoteca, Milan and The Promenade Gallery, Vlora (2010), Museo D’Arte Contemporanea Villa Croce, Genoa and The National Center of Contemporary Art, Moscow (2009), Micro Museum in New York, Taller Siete, Medellin Colombia, and The National Gallery of Arts, Prishtina (2008), Public Art, Trieste, Biennale di Venezia/Off Albanian Pavilion (2007), The National Gallery of Arts, Tirana (2006), Tirana Biennale/Off (2005) etc.
