TIRANA, May 3 – The British Embassy in Tirana has called on political parties in Albania to engage constructively and ensure full participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for June 18.

“The UK calls on all political parties to engage constructively to ensure that the forthcoming elections are fully participatory. It would be regrettable if parties chose not to participate,” a press release issued by the British Embassy on Wednesday read.

The British Embassy underlined that the Albanian electorate deserve the right to an election which provides them with the widest possible choice.

“We call upon all members of all political parties to ensure that the run up to these elections, and the elections themselves, are free from violence,” the statement concluded.
