US diplomat on a visit to the country

TIRANA, April 15 – Former US special envoy in the negotiation process of Kosovo’s final status Ambassador Frank Wisner held a visit in Albania meeting with the top official and political leaders.
Wisner was invited to share his long experience in the field of diplomacy, with some students from universities in Albania. Also, the U.S. diplomat will get acquainted with some of the most important Albanian cultural heritage.
Albanian authorities recalled the fundamental role of the United States in resolving Kosovo’s final status and thanked Ambassador Wisner for his personal contribution during the negotiation process that culminated with the independence of Kosovo.
Wisner thanked the Albanian authorities for the ongoing support for the process of final settlement of Kosovo status by assessing it as an expression of the moderate and constructive role of Albania in the region.
Wisner also welcomed the accession of Albania into the North Atlantic Treaty and expressed his confidence that further enlargement of NATO will serve to ensure peace and stability in the Western Balkans.
