Van Rompuy to visit Albania

TIRANA, Oct. 11 – European Council President Herman Van Rompuy will visit Albania next week, showing the importance Brussels pays to the tiny Balkan country, EU officials said.
The news was made public Monday at a meeting of the EU Delegation Charge D’Affairs Luigi Brusa with Albanian Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto.
Brusa said that the cooperation between Tirana and the European Union is very intensive.
He said that Van Rompuy’s visit next week is an indication of the country’s importance to the bloc.
The two officials also talked on the progress of the EU projects in Albania.
