TIRANA, April 9ank of Albania sold the entire offer of 1.0 billion ALL (10.2 million USD; 7.6million EUR) in three-month Treasury bills, as yields went down, it said on Thursday.
The T-bills, offered by the Finance Ministry, produced a weighted average yield of 5.97%, down from the 6.30% achieved in the previous auction held in March. Dealers placed bids worth 1.57 billion ALL in the Wednesday auction.
BoA will auction 14.7 billion ALL (149.3 million USD; 112.3 million EUR) in six-month and twelve-month Treasury bills offered by the finance ministry on April 14, the bank said on Thursday.
The six-month T-bills have an issue date of April 14 and will mature on October 10. The 12-monthgoverment paper will mature on April 15, 2010.
Albania’s six-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 7.61% in the last auction held on March 17, up from 7.46% achieved in February. The twelve-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 9.13% in the last auction held on March 31, unchanged from the auction held two weeks earlier.
The Bank of Albania has auctioned Treasury bills worth 98 billion ALL since the beginning of this year. It auctioned T-bills worth 373 billion ALL in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion ALL in 2007.
