100 million Lek to be spent on soft loans to boost tourism

TIRANA, Septemberؔhe ministry of finance will earmark 100 million Lek (1.5 million euro) in Albania’s 2010 budget for soft loans to investors in tourism, including hotel capacity, a newspaper reported.
“The government will support families that are interested in applying for investment in family tourism,” Deputy Finance Minister Sherefedin Shehu said.
“It will initiate a special project for supporting companies that will invest in tourist resorts.”
The funds are part of a drive to spur tourism in the country’s south, according to the Gazeta Shqiptare newspaper.
