13th Tirana book fair kicks off

TIRANA, Nov. 4 – Dozens publishing houses from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Diaspora inaugurated on Thursday evening the opening of the 13th edition of the Tirana book fair, the biggest annual book event bringing Albanian publishers together.
The “Tirana 2010” book fair, organized by the Albanian Publishers Association, will be held from November 11 to 15 at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana, where thousands of book titles by Albanian and foreign authors will be introduced in stands. Organizers say they will award prizes for the best publishing house, best writer and translator.
Several book promotion ceremonies and discussions with participating writers have also been scheduled. The book fair is also considered an opportunity to promote reading by offering books at discount.
