TIRANA, June 7 – Some 45 international movies, part of the Albanian Central State Archive collection, screened in Albanian cinemas during the 70s and 80s are being featured in the “Cinema nostalgia” event.
The event which is taking place at the Imperial Cinema in Kristal trade centre, started on June 4 and will continue until June 18.
Organizers say the Cinema Nostalgia event featuring movies screened during the country’s communist regime is aimed at bringing back emotions to people who watched them but also introduce the younger generation to them.
“This is a good way to attract both the younger and elder generations to the cinema, because the selected movies are pearls of the world cinematography,” said the Central Movie Archive in a statement.
The event opened with the screening of Osceola, a 1971 production directed by Konrad Petzold.
Several other movies including Italian, French, Balkan productions will be screened in the event which closes on June 18.
and also a gypsum sculpture of Mother Teresa.
