TIRANA, Aug.27- “Fidelio”, the well-known unique art work of the composer Ludvig van Beethoven, will premiere on October 3 at the stage of the Theater of Opera and Ballet. This Beethoven production will open the new season of art premiers launched in combination as part of the German-Albanian week. This is the first time “Fidelio” will be presented to Albanian audiences and will be performed in collaboration with German artists. The piece celebrates, in an artistic way, the freedom that comes from being in love and is one of the most beautiful pieces to hit world stages every year. The two-act opera was written by the composer during 1802-1816, in his second artistic phase when he was searching for new musical formulas to enrich the feeling and topics of his art. In “Fidelio” we see new elements for the artists and for his times, such as the chorus. World critics have called “Fidelio” the beginning of a move for opera becoming more dramatic and less connected to the tradition of bell canto. Wagner also learned from this opera how to strengthen the orchestra and oblige the singers to project more powerfully on stage. This is the start of a paler version of classic modules of opera and a stronger connection between the human being and music. The text has been written by Joseph F. Sonnleithner, Stephan van Breuning, Georg Friedrich Treitschke, based on the French work of Jean-Nicolas Bouilly.
