Albanologist Mathieu Aref, the author of the book has had to contact and debate with many Albanian albanologists, with linguists and archaeologist The debate arises from the fact that this study is based on the theory that the Pellesgians were the first inhabitants of the Balkan-Danubian area and of the Ageas, later on the Egyptian- Semits invaded several Pellesgian territories and by intergrating with the Pellesgians they created the fruit who were to be caleld Helenes or Greeks. It is the link that this author has created between the Pellesgians and the Albanians today which has raised all the debate with Albanian albanologists or with the linguists. This is the what the author declared himself about the work he has written, ” As regards my thesis on the Pellesgians, I had to go to Albania, where there were very few studies on the pellesgians and where this was devoted far less significance than in other countries, to comprehend the extent of the disbelief and almost hatred (with no convincing arguments or evidence) of a stubborn minority within Albanian universities. However, I did meet a limited number of honest university researchers, objective individuals, highly qualified and with a far broader and open minded approach to issues, who embraced my theory. When my volume hit the book shelves in Albania, “Albania, An Incredible Odessey of a Pre-Helenic People,” the reception of the Albanian and Albanian-speaking public was heated and enthusiastic,” adds the albanologist, teh author of many other works on Albania. So far, particularly in France and in the West in general, there has not been the slightest official contestment to this last work. In fact, here in the West, we are not accustomed to contesting a thesis without providing evidence of the opposite. In Tirana I had the impression I had gone back to the time of Galile, when he claimed the Earth was round, despite all the opposition and threats to him,” Aref added.
“Albania, an incredible odessey of a pre-Helenic people,” is launched
