CPI rises 1.1 percent in September

TIRANA, Oct 12 – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September 2008 increased 1.1 percent compared to the previous month, according to the Institute of Statistics.
The annual inflation in September was 2.7 percent, compared to 4.4 percent a year ago, that is much lower.
The index of “Food and non-alcoholic beverage” group signed an increase of 2.1 percent. The “Clothing and footwear” group signed an increase of 0.3 percent. The “Alcoholic drinks and tobacco” groups signed an increase of 1.3 percent. The “Transport” group fell by 0.5 percent. The “Communication” group fell by 9.1 percent. The “Recreation and culture” group increased by 10.2 percent.
