TIRANA, Jan 20 – Albania continues to attract the attention of tourists as a rarely visited destination on the Mediterranean.
Recently, a travel writer explained why a growing number of foreign visitors are attracted to Albania.
Although the country is still not well-known among European holiday-makers, Heather Cowper of balkantravellers.com claims that recent investments in Albania’s infrastructure are set to boost the country and could make it a major Mediterranean destination.
She explains that the country has much to offer adventurous travelers, with its beaches and coastline being particularly impressive for those who enjoy beach holidays.
Albania has 450 kilometers of coastline and the resort of Durres is already a popular location for holidaymakers, while resorts on the southern Ionian coastline are less busy and offer a variety of water sports.
Other reasons to visit Albania include the country’s rich culture and heritage, its beautiful landscape and the capital Tirana, which is renowned for its colorful buildings and lively nightlife.
