TIRANA, March 23 – Konfindustria, a business association, reported last week they had completed negotiations with Austrian company “Brantner GmbH / Austria,” a leading operator of recycling of solid waste, to implement a strategic project of waste recycling system in Albania.
Waste in Albania has created a difficult situation having direct negative impacts on the environmental standards of the country, something that would ask for hundreds of millions of Euros in order for the situation to improve and to get in line with mandatory EU environmental standards.
According to Konfindustria, the “Brantner GmbH / Austria” would assist the project in establishing a system full of modern solid waste management industries and by empowering Albanian citizens to offer the expertise for its country.
It would also help create conditions to implement EU law standards and to boost social accountability, to monitor the creation of a modern system for managing solid waste in local government, schools, citizens and industries in Albania.
“Brantner GmbH / Austria,” is a leader in the industry of recycling solid waste in Austria, it is active in 8 countries with approximately 3,000 employees and an annual turnover of 200 million Euros.
