Bank’s Loan Portfolio Rises 39% in January

TIRANA, April 01–The loan portfolio of commercial banks in Albania totaled 402.6 billion ALL (4.1 billion USD; 3.1 billion EUR) at the end of January, up by 1.6 percent from a month earlier and 39 percent higher than January 2008, BoA’s statistics indicated on Wednesday.
At the end of 2008 the banks’ credit portfolio totaled 396.3 billion ALL, up by 37.8 percent on the year. At the end of 2007 the banks’ credit portfolio was 0.6 percent higher than a year earlier.
