10000 jobs cut in textiles, exports sector

TIRANA, April 4،ast week, National Chamber of Textiles, declared that 10,000 jobs were closed in the last months. NCT blamed the global economic crisis and the decreased exports for the said job cuts. Exports are the most affected sector from the crisis and textile industry is one of the main exporters in Albania.
Unemployment may become a serious risk in Albania for 2009, even though the country has always suffered double digits of unemployment since 1990. BoA has rang the bell of alarm that “The business sector and individuals will experience growing difficulties in financing. Such a factor will initiate a process of restructuring that will have painful results in the short term and will increase job insecurity and unemployment.”
