Albania has the lowest internet use among SEE countries

SKOPJE, May 6ؓlovenia leads among southeast European (SEE) countries in terms of Internet penetration rate with 64.8% of its population using the Internet at the end of March, Internet World Stats data showed on Wednesday.
Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro followas 44.2%, 44.0% and 41.3% of their population, respectively, were Internet users at the end of March 2009, a survey by the Internet World Stats indicated. Albania ranks dead last with only 16% of its population having access to internet, 5% less than Kosovo which ranks 2d last.
In terms of number of users, Romania tops the list of SEE countries with 7.43 million Internet users, followed by Serbia with 2.6 million and Bulgaria with 2.37 million.
Iceland leads the European countries in terms of penetration rate with 90% of its 304,000-strong population using the Internet. Germany leads in terms of number of users, with some 55.2 million.
