TIRANA, May 6entral Bank of Albania (BoA) sold 14 billion Lek ($141.9 million/106.9 million euro) in three-month and one-year Treasury bills in an auction held on Tuesday, as the yields were mixed, the bank said on Wednesday.
BoA offered and sold 8.32 billion Lek worth of three-month T-bills. They produced a weighted average yield of 6.28%, up from the 5.97% achieved in the previous auction held on April 8.
The bank also sold 5.69 billion Lek worth of 12-month T-bills, down from its initial offer of 8.2 billion Lek. The yields remained unchanged for a fourth consecutive auction at 9.13%.
The Bank of Albania has auctioned Treasury bills worth 127 billion Lek since the beginning of the year. It auctioned T-bills worth 373 billion Lek in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion Lek in 2007.
