TIRANA, May 4ؔhe deposit portfolio of commercial banks operating in Albania totaled 610.7 billion Lek ($5.8 billion/4.5 billion euro) at the end of February,0.7% lower than a year earlier, central bank data showed on Monday.
The banks’ end-February deposit portfolio was1.4% lower than a month earlier.

The loan portfolio of commercial banks in Albania totaled 412 billion Lek ($4.2 billion/3.1 billion euro) at the end of February, up by 33% from a year earlier, central bank statistics indicated on Monday.
On a monthly basis the February credit portfolio was 2.3% higher, the Bank of Albania said in its monthly report.
At the end of 2008 the banks’ credit portfolio totaled 396.3 billion Lek, up by 37.8% on the year. At the end of 2007 the banks’ credit portfolio was 0.6% higher than a year earlier.
