Albania offers concessions for 27 hydropower plants

TIRANA, June 15 – The Albanian government has invited bids in a tender for concessions to 27 hydropower plants in Shkodra, Bulqize, Librazhd and Gramsh.
Due for construction in Shkodra are 11 hydropower plants on the Shale River: Theth, Grunas, Nderhyse, Lekaj, Breglumi, Vajvishte, Shala 1, Shala 2, Shala 3, Shala 4, and Shala 5.
In Bulqize, 10 hydropower plants will be built on the Zall i Okshtun River: Borove, Sebisht 2, Prodan 4, Prodan 5, Okshtun 6, Okshtun Ekologjik, Ternova 7, Lubalesh 9, Lubalesh Ekonlogjik, and Gjorice 10.
Librazhd will house one plant on the Gurra e Bardhe River — the Spathare project.
Finally, in Gramsh, five hydropower plants are slated for construction — Kukur 1, Kukur 2, Kukur 3, Kukur 4 and Kukur 5.
