Vodafone Albania wins fiscal communications tender

Vodafone Albania will implement the GPRS network in the Albanian fiscal system. The company will be the operator of public communications in the scheme of the transmittal of the periodic fiscal reports of Albanian businesses to the General Directory of Taxes (Drejtoria e P쳧jithshme e Tatimeve).
Vodafone Albania won the contract for fiscal communications, reports the local press (Standard, Panorama, 7.07.2009). Vodafone Albania will provide an APN service (Access Point Name) for a GPRS net to be established between a handful of companies authorized to distribute fiscal appliances, such as A. E. Distribution (Shpk.), BNT Electronic (Shpk.), I. V. A. Electronik (Shpk.), CKV Noki (Shpk.), Rilindja (Shpk.) and PKP (Shpk.) and the fiscal administration. Vodafone Albania will ensure the required network infrastructure for enabling direct connection to the intranet of the General Directory of Taxes.
Unsuccessful competitors of the tender were AMC (Sh.a) and Eagle Mobile (Sh.a).
Vodafone Albania is an anonymous society, (Sh.a), registered in Albania. In 2008, half of the shares were reported controlled by the Greek Branch of the English brand-name society (Vodafone Panafon International Holdings) and the other half by Vodafone International Holdings.
