New regulations for electronic commerce in Albania

TIRANA, August 12؁lbania’s Council of Ministers (CoM)) has approved a project-law on Electronic Commerce. The objective of the new law is to set new rules regarding the activity of electronic commerce and transactions. It is supposed to off more protection to personal data, to guarantee the free movement of services by harmonizing the requirement for information groups, to create a more transparent system between suppliers and receivers of the information and so on.
According to the law, any physical of juridical person registered at the National Registry Office may start an e-commerce activity without having to first receive an authorization for his webpage, with a few exceptions dictated by the law.
