Albania records growth of 5.3% on the year in the second quarter

TIRANA, Oct 12؁lbania recorded GDP growth of 5.3% in the second quarter from a year earlier, up 1% against the first quarter, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported.
All sectors except industry and trade, which marked respective declines of 6.3% and 3.2%, showed rises in the second quarter.
The highest increases were registered in telecommunications, services and construction at 18.1%, 15.9% and 9.8% respectively, INSTAT said in a statement.
In 2008, the country showed growth of 8%.
