Starting from 2010, wages in the medical sector will partly be fixed and partly influenced by the number of patients and the assistance given. This will be included in the contracts that the Health Insurance Institute (Instituti i Sigurimeve t롋ujdesit Sh쯤et촯r, ISKSH) will make with the hospitals in 2010, reports the local press (Standard, 25.10.2009). The director of the ISKSH, Elvana Hana, declared that the aim of the new contracts is to link wages with the service offered to the patients.

“Our big challenge actually is the financing of hospitals which should give autonomous services, but on the other hand, the output that we receive from them should be positive to the patients. We received experience concerning contracts with the hospitals, since we are at an important moment of the compilation of new contracts for 2010. A part of the wages will continue with the budget, but the supplement of the budget will be directly linked to the performance of the hospitals,” declared Hana.
