Albania holds “Military and Security Technologies” Salon

TIRANA, Nov 24 – The First Fair of Defense and Security “Albanian Military Exhibition” was held this week at the Commando Regiment in Zall Herr organized from the Defense Ministry and the Klik Ekspo Group.
Since April Albania has been a NATO member country.
“Albania became a NATO member with significant influence in the region and in remote places beyond this region as a result of these efforts made with sacrifices, by all political and military actors, who have made possible the current important reforms in the defense field. They are now conducting the planning of other reforms which aim the modernization of Albanian Armed Forces,” said Col. Dritan Demiraj of the Commando regiment.
“Our long-term involvement in peacekeeping missions alongside NATO allied countries raises the need of the fastest possible completion of the AF conversion into completely professional, modernized and equipped military with the equipment of modern weaponry,” said Deputy Minister Arjan Starova.
Participants attended a series of military demonstrations performed by Commando Regiment troops. Among these demonstrations the most prominent one was the shooting, which involved the weapons used by our special forces such as: pistol, machine guns, sniper rifles at distances over 800 m, etc., which were carried out with military cartridges in order to enhance the effectiveness of special preparation.
Part of this activity was the exhibition in special sections of weaponry, technology and civil emergencies, which were visited by hundreds of participants. The exhibition also exposed combat, technical and military equipments which are used by our military units and departments such as the Rapid Reaction Brigade, Commando Regiment, Special Battalion, Regiment of Infrastructure, Logistics Brigade, Regional Support Brigade, Liaison Battalion of General Staff, Military Police etc. This remarkable event was closely attended and visited by hundreds of participant.
A new Albania, more European than ever (so close to NATO), gets ready to host one of the novelties and peculiarities which will be introduced under the name of the “Military and Security Technologies” Salon, in the framework of the Annual International Trade Fair; this segment of the manifestation will be considered as the front-line to AL-M-EX “Albanian Military Exhibition” which is being programmed to be held next year.
In the programs and budgets of the Albanian government but also of the neighboring countries like FYROM, Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia, are highlighted the voices committed to improve the military equipment (especially in the cases of an obsolete army that needs regeneration), updating of the intercommunication technology and the vast defense and security industry.
Therefore, what the “Military and Security Technologies” Salon intends to bring for the exhibitors will be a “zoomed” panorama over the opportunities of a market eager for novelties and which sees behind meeting the everyday needs. On the other hand, for the direct buyer it is an occasion to shorten the recognition of in loco distances with the best bidder that might meet its needs on the verge of this historical step.
Not only the state institutions but also the private companies will be the targets of the bidders and operators of this complex industry. In the meantime, it is felt the growth of the number of international companies and brands that compete in the Albanian market cover the sector of the military equipments and technology.
