PRISHTINA, Dec. 7 – Kosovo’s Border Police and Customs will have a brand new building at their disposal at a main crossing with neighboring Macedonia, thanks to Euro 500,000 donated by the European Union, the Kosovo media reported.
EULEX is providing assistance to the Kosovo authorities in enabling customs control and an effective collection of customs revenues throughout Kosovo in accordance with EU standards and best practice.
The construction of the Republic of Kosovo Border Police and Customs building is part of Euro 1 million project, which also includes construction of the Railway Border Police and Customs station building at Han i Elezit and a bridge at Bllac롢order crossing point.
The customs activities at Gllobo誣롷ere previously carried out in trailers. The modern building constructed according to EU standards will enable that the activities of Customs and Border Police are carried out safely and effectively.
Last year another project was completed consisting of construction of two Border Police and Customs station buildings in the border points with Albania, Qafa e Morines and Qafa e Prushit. The value of this project was also about Euro 1 million.
