LEZHA, Jan. 5 – Scores of local residents first blocked the national road and then tried to storm the town hall in northern Lezha complaining of the lack of water and power supply.
They said authorities and politicians had pledged to supply them regularly with water and power.
Many of them asked, ‘Is that only for elections?’, adding they were continually promised help ahead of the elections but always that pledge was forgotten afterward
They pledged to continue their protest until requests were fulfilled.
Meanwhile, the area in Lezha and northern Shkodra districts is suffering from floods due to heavy weather and discharges of water from the reservoirs of the hydro power stations in the Drini River.
