Kosovo approves loan deal for energy network

The Kosovo Parliament has ratified the agreement for credit and financing between the Kosovo Government and the German Bank KfW. According to the agreement, Kosovo will benefit 16.5 million grant and 17 million loan for the implementation of the power network from Kosovo to Albania and Montenegro.
All parliamentary groups including the opposition have voted in favor of the agreement.
Minister of Economy and Finance, Ahmet Shala, said that the funds will be used to construct the 400 kilo volt connection between Kosovo and Albania.
Shala said that the construction works will be going on at the same time in Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro.
This project is expected to improve power supply in these three countries and is expected to facilitate the energy exchange in the region.
