TIRANA, April 28 – Fiera del Levante opened on Thursday its tenth edition of trade fair in Albania at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana. The international trade fair of technology, energy and environment will bring operators of the renewable energy and environment who will have the opportunity to meet the biggest local economic operators and discuss cooperation and economic integration.
The four-day Tirana-based show attracted more than 50 small and medium companies, also thanks to the proactive cooperation of ICE-Italian Trade Commission, as stressed by ICE-Puglia director Giuseppe Lamacchia, who ensured a wide participation of Apulian companies interested in the Albanian market.
The scientific partner of Eco Biz Expo is Consorzio Creta, an association of green-oriented companies with business interest on waste and water management, renewable energy and sustainable construction. Its president Giuseppe Dalena explained, “We aim at improving Albanian ‘green culture’, so as to learn from Italian mistakes and get together to important results in order to seed the ground for the future of Albania as a member of the European Union.”
“We have been steadily exploring the Albanian market over the last 10 years, that’s why we can proudly say that we are setting new standards in terms of international cooperation: there simply is no such international trade fair in Albania that has successfully penetrated the local market, making Italian entrepreneurs’ offer & demand meet on a fertile ground, that of the thriving Albanian economy. As in the previous edition of Fiera del Levante in Albania, we decided to entrust the organization to our parent company, Fiera del Levante Servizi, who changed the fair’s format in order to meet Italian and in particular Apulian enterprises demands,” declared Fiera del Levante president Cosimo Lacirignola during a conference held last week in Bari at the launching event of Eco Biz Expo 2010.
“The outstanding results of the previous edition,” remarked Fiera del Levante Servizi president Antonio Ciuffreda, “encouraged Apulian and Albanian institutions and enterprises to anticipate the event, as well as organizing a second one in mid June, especially dedicated to sustainable tourism, so as to consolidate the legacy of a productive Italian-Albanian cooperation, where Puglia and its economical network plays a leading role”.
Eco Biz Expo organizing partner is Alb-Konfindustria, a federation that gathers the most innovative Albanian enterprises.
“The Albanian economy has been showing impressive growth trends, up to +3% in 2009, despite the international crisis. We are thus looking forward to new ways of cooperating with our friends at Fiera del Levante and Fiera del Levante Servizi,” said Konfindustria’s director general Gjergj Bixhuku.
The same views were shared by Fiera del Levante Servizi managing director Massimo Lupis, who stressed how Eco Biz Expo “will increase opportunities to exchange productive knowledge on both sides of the Adriatic Sea as never before, thereby improving commercial trade and boosting Italian and Albanian economies so as to better faced global challenges”.
