UAE pledges further investments

TIRANA, April 26 – In a trip to Tallin, Estonia for a NATO meeting Foreign Minister Ilir Meta met with United Arab Emirates counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
They spoke about the opportunities that Albania offers for UAE investors.
In its latest decision the UAE government and the Abu Dhabi Fund decided to assist in opening the tunnel connecting Tirana with Elbasan, part of a new road, considered as very important and strategic by the Albanian minister.
They praised the increase in relations between the two countries in the recent years and discussed on the concrete enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the economic and political level and, in particular, on investment.
Tirana will soon open its embassy in Abu Dhabi, whereas Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his confidence that the UAE shall also soon open their embassy in Tirana.
UAE is also assisting Tirana city hall for the rehabilitation of the main Skanderbeg Square.
The sheik said Albania had several opportunities to attract investment.
Meanwhile the parliament approved Behar Bejko in the post of the ambassador in Abu Dhabi. He will also need to be decreed before taking his post.
