TIRANA, July 5 – While the two main political parties are squabbling over last year’s election transparency, the small political parties are increasing their voice for a greater participation in the amendment of the electoral law, while there is still time before local elections next year.
The Socialist Movement for Integration of Foreign Minister Ilir Meta, which is in the governing coalition of the Democratic Party and once an ally with the opposition Socialists, are joined by other smaller political parties calling to start the strengthening of electoral legislation.
They want to ensure small parties get more representation.
In the last year’s parliamentary vote they have managed to get only a handful of parliamentary seats.
