TIRANA, August 9 – The first 22 kilometers of the Saranda-Konispol motorway, a 29 million euro joint investment by the Albanian and Greek governments, have finished reconstruction, the Transport Ministry said in a statement.
The 40-km road will have two lanes and a maximum speed of 80-100km/h.
“Some 70 percent of works have already been carried out. The road is made up of 12 bridges and many other art works,” said a supervisor of the company.
Meanwhile, reconstruction works have already started for the Kanali i Cukes-Butrint tourist road.
Transport Minister Sokol Olldashi assured the project leading to the archeological site of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was on track despite delays because of passing through archeological sites.
The 12 km road, worth 1.2 billion lek, has been widened to 9 meters, said the Transport Ministry in a statement,
