Mr. Calik, How do you evaluate your investments in the Albanian market?
We, as “ȡlik Holding”, see the investments in Albania as very important in strategic terms. Albania is a special country for us. We see this beautiful country that is growing and developing, as a gateway that will provide new and important opportunities for entry into Europe. Our company is focused on Telecommunications and Finance sectors. Providing technological standards for Albanians in telecommunication at the same level with developed countries in order to provide better quality human resources have a great importance of our investments.
Albania has made and continues to make very important steps recently to improve the environment’s investments. This development will be very fruitful in the future. Investments of “ȡlik Holding” in telecommunication sector and banking system in the region are a clear indication of the importance we give to Albania; we want to provide as much employment and added value as we can.
What has “Eagle Mobile” brought for Albania?
With an investment of 50 million Euros in a very short period of two years, “Eagle Mobile” has achieved approximately 700,000 subscribers. During this process, the market share based on clients reached 15% and revenue base growth reached 10%. The most important part of this success is our team and our human resources. In this case, I sincerely congratulate the managers and all the staff of “Eagle Mobile”.
Also, an important part of “Eagle Mobile” success is the innovative and qualitative services that it has launched. Now we are in the threshold of a period when the effects of global crisis are decreasing and competition is increasing. As we have done so far, in the future we will continue to support in every aspect “Eagle Mobile” in order to offer the latest technology for the Albanian people.
Do you plan to spread your investments from Albania to other countries in the Balkans?
Our researches for new investments in Albania and neighboring countries are continuing. We appreciate every investing opportunity in the sectors we operate. Balkans is an open region for developments and it is very important for “ȡlik Holding”. Moreover, during this process, along with telecommunication and finance sectors, we want to evaluate the investment opportunities in other sectors we operate. In the following period, beside banking sector, our goal is to expand in other areas of the financial sector.
Which is your message to the Albanian colleagues and employees?
Albania with its developing economy offers many job opportunities in various sectors. We have continued to take rapidly the fruits of our investments we have made over the past two years in this country. I think we have been an important reference for Turkish businessmen to come and invest here. They can securely invest in Albania. Besides, the Albanian government provides significant support for foreign investors. I would say that Albania is on the way to become the shining star of the Balkans with developed human resources.
