Military exhibition to be held in Albania

TIRANA, Oct. 27 – A three-day exhibition opened Thursday with Albanian armaments and also the participation of many international companies in the business of weapons.
ALMEX 2010 is the most important military exhibition in Balkan region taking place in Tirana from 28th to 30th of October. This exhibition brings together the top military companies from all over Europe.
ALMEX – Albanian Military Exhibition – is an international event that will be visited by high level officials who will be introduced to local and international military enterprises.
The Almex 2010 exhibition will be located at the National Museum, right at the capital’s main Skanderbeg Square.
ALMEX is an international event that promotes a newly restructured, all-professional NATO-member, Armed Forces of Albania.
Alliance membership and the preparation to pass over the entrance of EU has intensified the outcomes of Albania to be involved with a spoken voice in the issues of Defense and International Security. A long process of upgrading has involved the structures of defense and security in the country, while with our partners and foreign investors, collaboration has already paved the way.
This is what ALMEX will be, a concentrated objective on actuality and radar that will tirelessly try to perceive the future of the sector.
An old MiG craft was seen set outside of the museum and organizers said that tanks and other weaponry will be set inside.
The exhibition will also be followed with a presentation of the reformed Albanian army with some shows, or training held in the nearby Zall Herr military base.
Organizers said that many world companies in the field of army intelligence or security will be present.
That is the first international military exhibition held in the country, now only a year after it became a NATO member country.
