TIRANA, May 8 – Exit polls seem not to be efficient or reliable, still, in this tiny western Balkan country.
There were held two exit polls Sunday _ one from an independent Prishtina-based, Kosovo institution, Gani Bobi Center, and the other from the opposition Socialist party itself, both held in capital Tirana.
The Gani Bobi Center was hired from the private TV station Klan TV which is considered to be close to the government.
The Center concluded that 59 percent had voted for Democratic Party candidate Lulzim Basha and only 39 percent for Tirana Mayor and opposition leader Edi Rama. It also added that about 30 percent of the questioned people had denied answering at all and putting the error margin at up to 15 percent.
The Socialist Party also made known an exit poll with an error margin of 2.5 percent saying that Rama, has taken 53 percent of the votes, while Basha 42 percent.
Though no final result is yet public in the capital, preliminary figures show that the two are in a tight race and there is no such a difference as noted in both exit polls.
